Growing up in a small province in the south of Vietnam, just a couple of years after the Vietnam war ended, I spent a lot of my time playing on the field with my friends. In junior high school, I tried to conduct simple biology experiments in my parents' backyard, included trying to replicate Mendel's experiments with black beans collected from the kitchen. In high school, with my great interest for science, especially Biology, I joined the Biology team and won a 3rd prize for Biology at the National Level. A special thanks to my parents who discovered the love of science in me and have been supporting me in my research journey from the very begining.
I am passionate about science, and also about cooking. When I am not working at the bench or the computer, I would either spend time in the garden or the kitchen. Besides Vietnamese food, I love to try different cuisine and enjoy being creative in cooking.
